The Rocking Chair Part 2: From Dogfight to Side Control… or Dogfight Back Take?
Once in Dogfight we transition again to Rocking Chair. We now have the option to sweep and end up in Side Control or do a back take if our opponent defends.
In part 1 of ‘The Rocking Chair’ we suspended ourselves on our opponent’s back.
The idea was to bait our opponent into flipping us over so we could use his momentum to sweep him over and arrive into side control.
In part 2 we suspend ourselves on our opponent’s back again. This time however, our opponent doesn’t flip us over.
In this case we walk all the way over and break him down on the back side. We either arrive in side control or, if our opponent decides to defend by rolling to his knee, we can do a back take instead.
Part 1 and 2 form the basis from where the rest of this series can unfold.
So far I covered the following step in my ‘Rocking Chair’-system:
-Half Guard to Dogfight
-Dogfight to Rocking Chair
-Dogfight to Side Control / Dogfight Sweep to Side Control
-Dogfight Back Take
